Kitchen Remodel Update and Home Decor!

If you want to learn to have patience, try doing a full kitchen remodel during a worldwide pandemic with a two year old… while PREGNANT! Although I really had hoped to have our kitchen fully complete by my 6th month of pregnancy, that is often not how things work in the real world. Especially when 99% of your plans are DIY, meaning my husband is actually the one completing our kitchen from top to bottom, all while working a corporate job full time from home.

**I explain more about this in the video that goes along with this post, linked below**

PHEW.

Now that I got that off my chest, I am so excited to share this post with you of items that I have purchased for our remodel! The decor theme I am going for is a mixture of French, Coastal, Boho and Modern. I love light, bright spaces and a white kitchen has always been my dream. I decided to have some fun with the gold hardware and warmer accents of natural fibers in the decor that I’m choosing to display on our open shelving. I have loved being able to choose every aspect of the space from the cabinets to the garbage disposal button to the light fixtures and everything in between! It is very fulfilling seeing everything slowly start to come together… the finish line is finally in sight!

I’ve created a graphic of each item that I’ve purchased below. There is a range of decor and fixtures - I really wanted to include it all because I know a lot of you are also in the midst of remodeling your spaces as well!

Furnished Home Tour + Kitchen Remodel Update!

It has taken me a whole year to finally get this video up, but here it is! A rough draft of our home as we’ve lived in it for a whole year! Obviously most spaces are not complete, I am a SLOW and picky decorator and it takes me a long time to collect enough items that I love to fill our entire home! Fall Front Porch Decor

Wayfair Fall In Love
Front Porch Decor For Fall and Halloween!

**This post is sponsored by Wayfair, all opinions are my own**

Since moving into our first home a few months ago, decorating has been on the forefront for every occasion possible. Living in an apartment for so long, I feel I’ve been deprived of the opportunity to decorate seasonally since we didn’t have much extra space indoors or a traditional front door area (not to mention the lack of storage space to keep decorations during off seasons). The fall front porch has been something I’ve seen all over Pinterest and Instagram for a few years now and I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to finally be able to not only create my own but share it with you all! I’m including a few super easy DIY ideas as well since I had to improvise in areas I wasn’t able to purchase the items I had in mind.

Fall Front Door - Wreath

I wanted to create a space that Stella would be excited about but that I could also keep through Halloween since this will be our first time having trick-or-treaters! This setup could also stay through Thanksgiving with some minor tweaks. The stacked pumpkin statue to the right of my door inspired the whole look and feel of this space! Check out all of the other amazing seasonal decor that Wayfair has to offer, HERE!

Fall Decor - Wreath

I couldn’t find my over the door wreath hook from last year so I found a temporary fix by using a removable Command hook! Easy peasy. Find my wreath linked on the shop page of my blog!

Front Porch Fall Decor - Mums in a Bucket

This little black and white striped pumpkin was such an easy DIY! I saw a similar designer brand pumpkin that was upwards of $100 and obviously I’m not going to spend that on such a temporary piece, so I decided to make my own! I got some acrylic paint (black and gold), and a faux white pumpkin, and freehanded some striped with a $1 foam brush from the craft store! Easiest DIY ever. If you want your lines to be more perfect just use some painters tape!

Fall Front Door Decorations for Halloween

This cute little gold polka dot pumpkin was another fun DIY. I had bought some gold polka dot peel and stick wallpaper off of Amazon for Stella’s room but never really found a good place for it. I wanted a polka dot pumpkin but was stumped on how to paint perfect circles on a pumpkin when I remembered that I had these cute little dots stashed in my coat closet. They gave just the effect I was hoping for and were easy to place. Just make sure you move slow and stretch each dot as you are placing it on the pumpkin to minimize bubbles. I would start at one edge and slowly stick the sticker on in a rolling motion and use a scraper to get all of the little bubbles out (you can see a few in the picture below, this was before scraping) when it was fully placed and stuck down.

Halloween Front Porch Decor DIY

This stacked pumpkin statue is so fun because it is actually HUGE in real-life! It also lights up and is weatherproof so you can safely keep it outside. I'm going to use it year after year! Stella loves it so much and it will be a fun statement piece for Halloween. I do wish these little mums were slightly more full to fit these buckets, I found them on sale and despite the size, I couldn't pass them up for the price!

Fall Front Porch Decor - Orange Mums in Bucket

These metal buckets are a fun touch and add a little farmhouse feel. I wanted it to feel fun and whimsical with the stripes and polka dots but there's something special about keeping a little tratitional edge with the nod to farmhouse decor.

Halloween Decor Outdoor

Door mat and buffalo check rug are tagged on the shop page of my blog! I plan to re-purpose this buffalo check rug in my laundry room after the season ends! It is machine washable and a really soft material, good for indoor or outdoor use. Plus it’s super affordable and comes in two sizes! I got the larger one.

Fall Front Door Decor - Fun Pumpkins

I did a mix of real pumpkins and faux pumpkins that I had from previous years. My favorite place to buy faux pumpkins is Michaels and Target! The little one balanced on top actually has a battery operated light up jack-o-lantern face on the other side, I’ll flip it around when it gets closer to Halloween to add more festive flair!

Front Door Decor For Fall - Mums and Pumpkins

I had so much fun decorating our front porch this year! Although I went with more traditional colors, I feel like the fun DIY’s really spiced it up and I am already gathering inspiration for new ideas in coming years! Are you more traditional with your decor, or do you like to think outside the box? Let me know if you end up trying either of these easy DIY’s!

I knew when we moved into our new house that my first priority would be to set up Stella’s new room. I’ve heard that anxiety with big life changes can be common in kids and I wanted her transition to the new house to be comfortable, and seamless. I really hyped up this space to her too so she was so excited about her new room, especially once we got the keys to the house and started putting her whole space together! Needless to say, it was an easier transition than if we had waited to unpack and put her room together after we had moved in. I started planning weeks in advance and I quickly realized my vision once I found the wallpaper I wanted to use for her statement wall! I chose the most adorable lemon print wallpaper from Rocky Mountain Decals as the statement piece for her room and I am so happy with how everything came together around that wall as a focal piece!

See this post for all about Stella’s wallpaper wall

Stella will be two in July and I know within the next year or so we will be transitioning her to her big girl bed so a frame, mattress and bedding was a definite priority. Plus we needed somewhere for before bedtime stories! I knew I wanted a floor bed for safety reasons, plus I had seen this cute house frame bed all over Pinterest so I went on the hunt for the site with the best reviews, cue Ruby & Rye! Not only are her beds affordable and adorable, they come with numbered pieces and easy directions for assembly! I ordered a memory foam mattress from Amazon, it was super affordable and is seriously more comfortably than my own mattress. Not gonna lie, I might actually order one for my room as well!

Speaking of the big girl bed.. I HAVE to mention this adorable bedding from Beddy’s Beds! This “sheet set'‘ is not your typical bedding because it is all attached and has a zipper for littles to be able to make their bed easily! Not to mention it stays put when you aren’t using your bed for sleep. We often sit on her floor bed and read books or play. These sheets won’t budge as long as they are zipped up, and how freaking cute are the ruffles?! The color we got is chic white and I am in love with the vintage/shabby chic vibe! Inside you can opt for a “minky” which is a super soft blanket that is attached to the sheet which means you won’t even need additional blankets if it’s a little cold. I am obsessed with this bedding and I’m already considering ordering the pink set for backup and laundry days!

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this rug since I shared it on Instagram. It’s a piece I’ve been eyeing since before Stella was born. As soon as I found out it was washable it was a no brainer that I needed it in Stella’s toddler room! Plus it matches her wallpaper wall PERFECTLY. I chose a few other cute pieces from Lorena Canals that fit the theme perfectly. I’m especially loving this tassel basket that we use for stuffed animal storage, and these cute washable pillows! Stella requests to have them in her crib with her every night.

I had plans to find the perfect dresser and get some floating bookshelves hung but I’m still looking for the perfect pieces for her space. I’ll definitely update when I find them!

I am looking forward to sharing more spaces in our new home with you guys, make sure to subscribe to my blog in the form at the bottom of the page as well as my Youtube channel so you don’t miss out on any updates!

Toddler Room Wallpaper Statement Wall! (VIDEO)

The other day I did a quick vlog-style video of me putting up the “Lemon And Mint” peel and stick wallpaper from Rocky Mountain Decals in Stella’s new “big girl” room! It turned out so cute! Make sure to watch to the end of the video for a sneak peek of her room decor. We’re still working on some finishing touches but I can’t wait to share the whole space with you! A HUGE thank you goes out to Rocky Mountain Decals for providing this wallpaper in exchange for review! Make sure to follow their Instagram for some cute decor inspo!

Enjoy the video, don’t forget to comment and subscribe so you don’t miss out on the full room tour, coming very soon!

DISCLAIMER: I discovered after filming this video that the wallpaper does not stick well on textured walls, we have an orange peel texture on our walls and despite following all directions to a T, we are having issues with the wallpaper staying on in certain spots. This is also stated on the Rocky mountain Decals website in the FAQ section. Take this into consideration and have them send over a sample before ordering the full amount for your wall! Otherwise we love our lemon print statement wall!

Our Empty House Tour! (VIDEO)

Ahhhh! We finally got the keys to our new place! Leave a comment below with any suggestions you have or links to inspo you’d like to share.
