October Shein Favorites

I typically share a Shein haul every month, you can see last month’s here! This time I wanted to do it a little differently and share with you the items I loved on the days I wore them out (real-life, in the moment pictures) and about vs mirror pics where I just threw the item on to snap a pic. I’m not knocking that method, just so you don’t expect to see me not doing that anymore haha! I just felt like trying something new this month!

Click here for September’s Shein Try-On!

If you saw my Instagram stories try-on of these items, I had five in total that I got in this order. I’ll be sharing the three items that fit and worked for me! As you know, retailers like Shein can be tricky when it comes to sizing as their items are a little inconsistent, which is why I like to share these honest reviews and how each item fits on me with my particular sizing etc. I actually wrote a whole blog post about tips and tricks for ordering from retailers like Shein and Amazon. Read that here! If you missed my October Shein try-on that I shared on Instagram stories, it is saved in a highlight on my profile called “Shein!” You’ll also see all of my past Shein try-ons there too.

Snake Print Cami

I’ve been looking for the perfect piece of clothing to introduce snake print into my wardrobe! I have a few shoes in the print but I wanted to bring it up a notch and this cami was the perfect way to do that without going completely over the top. There is a fine line between tacky and chic when it comes to animal print, snake skin being the hardest to style correctly and appropriately in my opinion! This cami is only $6 and is the perfect layer for under a third piece, like I have shown here with my leather jacket. It would also be great tucked into a skirt with a blazer for a more business casual vibe or a denim jacket for a more casual option.

I’m wearing a large in this cami, it runs really small so size up one or even two sizes!

Embroidered Babydoll Dress

I have gotten a few dresses in this style for fall this year, and they are the perfect cut to style with my favorite OTK boots! I wear these boots all the time and sometimes I don’t feel like tucking jeans or leggings into them so this dress was perfect and SO easy. A perfect “throw on and go” outfit! The embroidery detail is amazing and great quality, the material of the dress isn’t plastic-y like some that I’ve gotten from here, but it is definitely what you’d expect from a $17 dress, so keep that in mind!

I sized up way too much in this dress, I got an XL when I’m a normal medium, so I’d say to grab your actual size and you’d be good to go!

Oversized Striped Sweater

Remember how much I loved this sweater when I got it in green last month? You can see how it looks in this post here! I am so obsessed with the fit and feel of this sweater! I’ve said it multiple times that this piece is the sweater of the season! I still believe it to be true! It is massive so I got my true size medium since I still like an oversized fit. The sleeves are really wide and baggy but look cute rolled up! It’s only $17 so I’m going to continue ordering each color as they come in lol!

Fall Amazon Try-On Haul

You guys are still going crazy over my last Amazon haul that I shared on here in Spring! This white sweater has been a consisted top seller basically since I shared that post, which is great because it is one of my favorites too! Now that it’s cooling down I’m getting even more wear out of it.

Amazon Spring Try-On Haul

I shared this most recent try on in my Instagram stories (saved to the highlight named “Amazon”) a couple weeks ago, but I figured it would be a good idea to put it up on the blog as well, since I want you all to be able to reference everything that I share and love in one place! This try-on was much smaller than my Spring one, but I’ve been trying to balance my budget between shopping for clothes and remodeling our kitchen/home decor stuff. Call me naive, but I underestimated the amount of “stuff” I would need that I didn’t need as an apartment dweller, I can’t just call my concierge to come and replace my light bulb, and let’s not even talk about how much I’ve bought to maintain our yard. Yikes!

ANYWHO - the thing I love about this fall haul is that I really put a lot of thought into each piece before I pulled the trigger. It is definitely less items but I love each piece so much and have been wearing them so much over the past month! I know they will be great all season long. Plus, this gives me room to do a couple more small-ish Amazon hauls before fall is over, right?! ;)

Cream Cardigan - Fall Amazon Haul

Cream Fringe Sweater

This sweater is so boho, it gives off a major Free People vibe for a fraction of the cost! I shared more photos and details about it in this post here, but overall I’d say get your true size or size up if you have broad shoulders like me! The sleeves are a tad short, but nothing I can’t work with!

Grey Sweater - Fall Amazon Haul

Bell Sleeve Sweater

I had such high hopes for this sweater and I’ve continued to try to make it work because the quality of this piece is just beyond amazing! It is so thick and soft, the silhouette is interesting too and overall, I am just way too broad to fit this. I even sized up and the sleeves are way too short. If you are petite, this would be a great option for you! The sleeves bell out at the ends and it is perfect for fall.

Teal Off Shoulder Top - Fall Amazon Haul

Off Shoulder Polka Dot Top

I’m going to buy this top in every color. I love it SO much! Not only does it have such great details, it is affordable and comfortable, and comes in a bunch of other colors! See more details and photos in this blog post here. The one thing I didn’t realize when I bought it was that the back is sheer, but the front is lined and opaque so I can get away with no bra, but if you want to wear one, make sure it’s something that you don’t mind people seeing through the back of the shirt!

Color Blocked Cardigan - Fall Amazon Haul

Color Block Cardigan

This sweater is so fun and looks like a Madewell brand cardigan I’ve had my eye on for some time! It fits a little small through the body so I suggest sizing up. I’m wearing a medium here and I wish I had gotten a large, although the sleeves are plenty long!

Leopard Cardi - Fall Amazon Haul

Leopard Cardigan

This cardigan is definitely one of my favorite Amazon fashion finds EVER! The quality is amazing, reminds me of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale leopard cardi that sold out super fast! It’s thick and cozy and I love that it’s a little different than regular brown leopard print. The black and white pattern is so chic! Get your true size, runs a tiny bit big!

Thanks for checking out this Fall Amazon haul! I have lot’s of items in my cart ready to go for my next try-on sesh, make sure you’re following along on Instagram so you never miss an update!

OKAY. This sweater is the one item you need from this try-on… if you don’t buy anything else, BUY THIS! I love the look of this sweater, plus it is incredible quality! I should have gotten my regular size, but as you know I always size up with Shein so I am wearing a Large here and it is really big. Comes in a tan stripe option too which is just as cute! Odds are I’ll order that one too for how much I love this sweater!

Tie Front Thermal Top

$18 Size L

Shein Try-On Haul - September @stylebyjulianne

This top is so fun with the color blocking. It’s not something I would normally reach for but I thought it was a fun change to what I usually reach for! It also comes in a black, white, and grey combo too, if you’re more into neutrals. This top totally reminds me of my favorite Urban Outfitters button down thermals that I have in a bunch of colors. Runs pretty true to size and feels super soft and cozy!

Leopard Print Denim Skirt

Size L $14

Shein Try On Fall Haul @stylebyjulianne

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed my favorite fall outfit. Sweaters and skirts are such a fun way to transition into the cooler months while it’s not too cold to have bare legs! I love a good denim skirt and although the denim doesn’t feel of the utmost quality, I can see myself wearing this all season long with a cozy sweater front tucked in like in the photo above! My sweater is also from Shein last year, and is still available. I’ll link it below!

Striped Sweater & Babydoll Dress

$18 Size L // $8 Size L

Shein Fall Try On @stylebyjulianne

I thought these last two pieces looked cute together, this dress is only $8 (shook) and comes in a handful of colors. It is slightly sheer so I’ll wear a slip with it when I wear it out of the house. It is such a flattering silhouette with the shape of the seam, it’s dramatically curved which gives a slimming effect, love it!

This sweater is under $20 and super versatile! I know I’ll get a ton of wear out of it for fall. I love it paired with my favorite OTK boots (currently on sale too)!

Thanks for checking out this month’s Shein finds! I really love sharing these try-ons with you all so I’m happy to see that they’ve been such popular posts on SbJ! Let me know what piece was your favorite in the comments below, and as always, thanks for reading!

The Coziest Chunky Knit Sweater!

Denim Mini Skirt Athleisure Outfit @stylebyjulianne

Nothing like an athleisure look for a low-key day. Honestly, I don’t even know if I can call this look athleisure but the shoes really give me those vibes so that’s where we’re at. I’ve been working hard to get back in a good routine after our trip to the South last week, it’s been tough since we’ve been so busy but we finally had a day to sleep in and relax and man oh man, it was NECESSARY. I feel like a new woman! We did end up running out to Target and Nordstrom Rack in the pouring rain, just to get out of the house for a few. Speaking of Target - this $20 skirt has been one of my favorite finds for end of summer! I had no idea I would love it as much as I do. Honestly, I bought it to go with one outfit and it ended up being an item I reach for multiple times a week!

Ok, so we also have to talk about this sweater. I had my eye on this chunky knit for a couple years before I finally pulled the trigger and I wish I had just bought it sooner! This will be the second fall that I’ve had it and you all went crazy over it last year. I’m sure it will continue to be a top seller this year as well! It’s currently on sale with free shipping too!

My Louis Vuitton inspired bag is under $50 and I’ve been using it as my “mommy bag” or diaper tote, whatever you wanna call it. It fits everything without being too huge and the price can’t be beat!

Toddler Fall Outfits

Stella had her first solo photoshoot the other day and it was so much fun! We met up with two amazing photographers local to the Portland, Oregon area, and had a quick mini session with their adorable Halloween set complete with pumpkins and other spooky goodies (at one point we even got to snuggle the sweetest Scottish Fold kitten)! If you are local, they are booking up quickly for these special seasonal shoots so contact them ASAP to book your shoot while there’s still openings! These mini shoots are extra fun because they’re quick and easy and very affordable.

Since it’s still August and Halloween is a ways off, I thought it most appropriate to pick up a few outfits that I knew Stella could wear in the weeks leading up to the holiday without being full on costumes. Of course we added in some festive flair like these cute sparkly cat ears!

Stella’s Outfit Details:

Shopping for Babies and Toddlers: Quick Tips

  1. Intentionally Shop

When I’m shopping for clothes for myself or Stella, I only shop with intention. What I mean by this is that I take steps to prepare and plan before heading out the door to inventory what we already have, what we need to stock up on and items we might need for events or other special pieces (ie: Halloween pieces for this shoot).

2. Create Outfits in Store

After we get to the retail store of choice, with the items in mind that I need I will find things that catch my eye and then create outfits. I like to create 3-4 outfits (either physically in store, or using items I know we have at home). This way we are purchasing things we will get lots of wear out of and spending money intentionally and I tend not to splurge on unnecessary items, or go over the top buying things we already own in excess.

3. Double Check Sizing

Another good tip when shopping for babies or toddlers is to check sizing. Think about when your kiddo will be wearing the items and then estimate what size they will be by the time they’ll be wearing the pieces. I actually sized up in most of the fall and Halloween items I got for Stella since I knew it would be a couple months before she wears them, and she has been growing like a weed lately. I wanted to make sure cost per wear is low as they are seasonal pieces and I want to be able to use them as long as the weather permits!

I gathered up some other amazing toddler fall fashion finds and grouped them into style boards for easy shopping! I bought a lot of this stuff too, I have absolutely ZERO self control when it comes to teeny tiny clothes.
